I ended up buying a truck and going owner operator with my current company. I drove down to their Pensacola terminal (MTL) and spoke with Jason (TM) and took a facility tour for most of the day. I was very impressed with everything he had to say. I sat down with a Gold Team driver in the training room and spoke with him at length. Everything sounded great but in the end it was just going over to another company, which I hate to do. Chemical hauling is chemical hauling regardless of what company logo is on your door. The best way to make real money is to get in your own equipment and lease onto the carrier, which is what I did. The first load I hauled went up to Calgary from Georgia and paid my truck $6,200 including 100% fuel surcharge. I'm very happy I bought a truck and stayed. I operate out of their Winder, Georgia terminal (Liquid Transport Corp), right down the road from Athens. If you want a company driver gig they pay .54 loaded and .40 empty out of Winder.
Anyone have info on McKenzie Tank Lines?
