I worked their from 1984-1992. Ran Montfort meat Greeley to Hunts point market as often as possible. We hit almost every meat market east of the Mississippi. Small or large we hit them all. If you didn’t have a back hall start heading home. Grab a load out of New Jersey yard brought it back to the yard. Grabbed another did it again. Sometimes out of New Jersey load of books to Florida than orange juice out of Ocala fl. To King Soopers. That was the best paying week you could have as a single driver. I remember a guy Dale Byrd at Monfort dispatch would try and get us out 5-8:00 Friday night for a Monday early morning Del. That happened rarely, most of the time it was 10 pm-4:00 am and you still could not be late. I actually worked for Steinbecker Bro., I think the most beautiful k100s double wide sleepers with bunk beds,Crist is Lord,Dove on the side, Nice Equipment, well maintained, and crazy owner. (Larry Steinbecker),Dave S. so I fit right in. Never late get there on time, you figure out how to do that, no excuses. Fun. They actually left out of Greeley in the late 80s, as Monfort converted over. They went to Kansas, lost contact when they moved. I wish I still had the picture post laminated card they gave us when we started there. If someone reading this has a pic of there equipment and could post that, now you would see a class act. When they started. Got crazy at the end but that sometimes happens. I loved that job, fun.

I knew your Uncle Wilbert. I worked in the wash rack for several years as a teenager and then young adult. When his truck came through, I assure you we took extra care to make certain there was no dirt on it when it left the wash rack or else we would hear about it! He was always kind to me, but he had a standard for clean that wouldn't bend! More than once I followed him out to the parking lot to clean a spot we had missed before he left the yard. Fond memories!
