ok so based on the fuel price increase ive been keeping the trucks doing short hauls because i haven't been able to find something decent to go out long distance. This morning broker offered me a load from milwaukee to fort worth for $980 with 42K. Ch Robinson called me about one from sturtevant to morris il 21k lbs like 130 miles for $465 so not that bad, but i wanna ask is what kind of rates are people getting out from this area ohh btw i have 53' dry vans thanks for your help

Rates are cheap... my return loads to Wisconsin have been averaging $1.00 per mile or so... I'd never make it without the good paying tater loads out of Wisconsin. And even those aren't really keeping up with the fuel increases.

A Texas load out of WI should pay a lot more than $980.00...

I've been on vacation for the last week... I'll have to see what's going on when I load out this weekend.

Rates out of WI are currently great, WI in general is super HOT! I have been getting $2.50 to $3/mi out of WI the last few weeks (53 ft dry vans). Going back is typically $1.1 to $1.3/mile.

Rates have picked up quite a bit the last few weeks.

"Return rates"..... aaaaaggghhhhh!!! Will anybody please tell me why this is supposed to make any sense???? Pleeeeease tell me where running at cost or below pays the bills?

Be warned.... "pays for the fuel to get me back to a hot area" or "it's just how it's done" are not a sane or grownup answer. Use of these "justifications" means you are an idiot.

Many see it as better than running back to their HOT area for a whopping $0.00 / mile with the 0% FSC tagged on.
