I have had the 4" T&E with a hydraulic drive setup by A Plus machining in Lloydminster for a little over a year without any problems or rebuild, still pumps reasonably well, you have to watch for sand to ensure long life and also mine is hooked up to an auto greaser (not oiler), which gives it a shot every 90 minutes, the pump costs about 5k nowadays. I am switching to Green Bast$&d next week for speed, they claim it is 1:1.25 pumping ratio compared to T&E. Another benefit is that you don't have to wrap the GB, just plumb it to coolant lines and it stays warm. It is priced at ~$7k. If switching from T&E, shouldn't take much fabrication.
@Sarah I am interested in learning about that PG 389, sent you a pm
For pumping produced water, there are 2 commonly used pumps Franklin and Berkley, Franklin is a 3" and hence slower, but lighter and cheaper @~$2300, whereas the Berkley is faster, bulkier, heavier and costs ~$3800. I have used both and Franklin is quite a bit faster than T&E. Berkley is even faster but a bit finnicky.
i called a Bowie dealer askng about there 4" 600gpm pump, priced at ~$7700, and first thing out of his mouth was " you have a better pump".
    i hope this helps

Hello Dustin- Try our 489PHHFRV-XXXLLF pumps by Ranger. They have a special Quad Lip Seal and special high temperature packing. The lip seals prevent both the sand/pulverants from getting out to the packing. But they also keep the liquid from getting outboard too. Therefore, the packing had to be high temp. So what happens is the Teflon lip seals will eventually wear out and then the packing kicks in. But this should happen many, many, many cycles past the point where conventional packing wears out. If the packing starts to drip, you can stop the pump and just take a half turn to tighten each packing gland nut to restore it temporarily to a leak tight condition. You can replace the thru-shaft seals at that point with a new QLS kit and begin the long life process all over again. Send me an e-mail address and I'll send you some literature. Where are you located so I can direct you to a distributor? Mike Girard- Ranger Pumps.
