I am a recent CDL graduate and I am seriously looking at NTB, Inc (http://www.ntbtrk.com/) and running out of their Byron Center, Michigan (Grand Rapids) terminal.

Does anyone out there have experience with them or information about how good of a company they are?

They said their weekly miles for drivers run between 2000-2400 (on average). That seems like a low amount for a normal OTR driver. I know they are a regional carrier, so I do not expect as many miles are running team cross country. Does these miles sound right?

The real draw for me is the 5 days out with the same 2 days off each week (at home). Has anyone had problems getting home time as told with these folks?

I really appreciate anything anyone knows about this company and working as a company driver for them.

    Thanks!

Abbott that sounds about right if you're working regionally. Getting home weekly for two days you'd have to work your tail off and have everything go perfect to break 3,000 miles logging legally. I work for a company that tries for a similar schedule. We do it a bit differently with one long haul out, turn around and come back, call it a week. So my average mileage (odometer) is around 2800. Sounds like a great opportunity for a new guy such as yourself. Do some more research on the company and if that looks good I'd pull the trigger.

I checked into them awhile ago and seem like a pretty decent outfit. They do a lot of Meijer, Target, and Ice Mountain water. Trucks seem pretty good, the only thing I didn't like was you have to slip seat, so your in a different truck each week and take all your stuff out when in home time. But if that doesn't bother you then could be a good fit.

Roger that on the slip seating. Weird that they do that on non-shift work. Abbott in my experience Target DCs are gravy compared to Walmart and most grocery warehouses, so that's a plus.
