Just cause a product is popular doesn't make it the best. Lucas is popular because of the same reason Rotella and Power Service are...they advertise the hecl out of it and you can find the products everywhere. I haven't seen the improvements that many have had with the Lucas fuel treat. The oil stabilizer did help drop my oil temp when I was running Rotella. But since I switched over to Schaeffers, full synthetics in every thing, I swear by them. I just haven't ran the fuel treat long enough to give a true figure.
Anyone know if Cat or Cummins has favored injector cleaners?

I tried Lucas some years back, didn't see much gain, if any, so went back to Power Serve. Little improvement, if any, but wife could get it at a good $, then I saw a table similar to the one you posted, got away from PS also. Both are very popular in our area. Schaeffers is sold by our local lawnmower sales/repair store, the store owner is one of their best non-compensated advertisers of their products. He practically gave me the oil for my riding mower just so I'd try it. I now run it in both riding mowers, my tractor, and pickup. I thought that Shaeffers is a partial synthetic blend, at least fairly sure the oil I use is. Curious now, gonna have to run out to the shed read a label.
As far as Rotella, I got nothing against it, believe it to be a good oil. When local Cat dealer inframed my 3406E, I asked about the Cat brand oil they had used in my engine; was told that it was rebadged Rotella. When I let my father talk me into switch to Mobil Delvac, I actually lost one psi at operating speed. -
i like FPPF best i found that stuff will clean injectors and burn water LOL

Reading the label on the jug of Schaeffers 7000 oil, tells me it is a parafin based oil, which makes it a blend. I remember a conversation with the Schaeffers dealer, having reservations about switching my pickup over, as the mileage was over 50k, making it prone to leaks if I were to have went with a full synthetic. It was at this time he informed me that it was a blend; perhaps he was just referring to the 7000 series.
I see you also run Schaeffers in your big rig's engine. How many mi. do you run between changes? I like the stuff, but it IS rather pricey. -
The Schaeffers 7000 is a synthetic blend. I am currently running this oil with a drain interval around 30-35,000 miles. Schaeffers says I could go out to 45,000 miles, but I'm comfortable where mine is and I'm already saving money compared to Rotella. This next oil change I am switching to the 9000 which is full synthetic and changing out the drive line to full synthetics also. The oil is rather pricey, but once you do the math and see that in the long run it will more than pay for itself in extended oil changes, free oil samples (at least my dealer gives them to me), and better mpg.
Rotella just wouldn't standup in my ACERT. Every sample for the first 100,000 miles showed that it was ready to be changed after about 12-15,000 miles (which I know is normal). But my oil temp always ran high with Rotella (210-220 degrees) compared to Schaeffers 7000 (180-190).
The FPPF is a good fuel treat. I know of a couple of guys that run it and like it very much. I have never ran it so thats about all I can say.droy Thanks this. -
Hi, who made Lucas popular.... Hmmmm , Truck Stops where products are dumped (pay after selling) and advertisement, that's all we see everyday over and over years over years, and in mind we make those products "Popular" and WOW thing.
Why I was searching bcoz I bought DBF-4 from local traction shop, water dispersant purpose.
With Howes money back guarantee lol I have towed Volvo in -35°C, and I used it Nov, Dec, Jan. -
I have used Lucas fuel treatment in my C15 had some loss of power. used a little trans fluid power came back. add a little Lucas in Farm tractor. same thing. drained out . running fine.
