Just curious, but does anyone here know how much pressure the late model EGR Detroit Series 14L injectors generate? I read that the newer common rail engines run at 25,000 PSI or more so I"m wondering what the older unit style injectors could achieve.
Anyone know the 14L Detroit S60 Injection Pressure?

Same. Around 28,000 psi. That injector rocker off the camshaft lobe can make lots pressure.
pushbroom Thanks this. -
Common rail is over 30,000 psi on some applications and more.
-
Yep 28,000 is correct..

Thanks to everyone for your responses. I thought that the older unit injectors only managed 3,000 psi. Now I know better.

High pressure oil firing the intensifier piston in injector gets up to 2800 psi or so. But the fuel coming out the nozzles is much much higher. -
Lol I was reading his post and was thinking that and scrolled to see you already answeredswaan Thanks this. -
I didn't think mechanical electronic fuel injectors put that much pressure out! Unfortunately I caught the tail end of that technology.
