DMV isn't open again till wensday and I only get one more shot, I know I don't have to pay the full fee again but I'm not sure if I have to wait 30 days or anything.
Anyone know what happens if you fail written test 3 times in PA?

Thought you already decided Trucking wasn't for you?
Well if you fail it a 3rd time, it prolly isn't for you anyway.
Actually you should prolly be studying the Book instead of posting here worrying about failing again

blairandgretchen, Puppage and jbatmick Thank this. -
If you fail the written three times its an indication you need to finally open the book and study.

You not only have to pass the written exam, you must prove you are capable of passing the road test and then complete the student driver program if you intend to pursue OTR TT combination CMV jobs. Most fleets have access to your test scores!

Never heard of a carrier having access to test scores, either you pass or you fail, there is no score, no one knows your scores. Smacks of HIPPA to me. That being said maybe you need to consider that not everyone is cut out to be a truck driver. Or maybe you don't want it bad enough to buckle down.BrenYoda883 Thanks this.

Take practice tests online, don't waste your time going to the DMV if you can't pass. If you have to question whether you'll pass or not, your not ready.Moon_beam Thanks this.

There are many drivers out here that struggled with the DMV tests.. you are not the first to fail 3 times and you wont be the last..
Just study and study..Berkez Thanks this. -
I call BS!! If you want to pass you will study, study, study.......
If you don't really care one way or the other, your test results will reflect this.
There are far too many resources available to flunk this test even once. If you really don't care, say so and move on.SlowPoke44magnum, Dark_Majesty_06, blairandgretchen and 3 others Thank this. -
When I took the test in NH I did them all at once including Hazmat. I didn't ace them all but I did pass. My last test was the Hazmat and finished early and sat back with my feet on the desk to go over the questions. The questions were on a sheet of paper enclosed in one of those plastic jackets. When I sat back the light caught the plastic at the right angle and I noticed a pin prick on all the multiple choice questions and realized they were the answers to the questions.
I finished my test and went out and said I bet I got an 80% and I did. I told him you know why I knew 80% and told him to look at the plastic at an angle. He got my other test questions and same thing. I offered to take all the tests again with a different set of questions but he said it was OK. The whole place came over and was looking at them. They have computers now. -
I have to disagree in part with that statement. I have put hundreds of students thru CDL school and it is my observation is that there is a large percentage of students that don't pass all of the tests the first time around. I have never kept track of the % but an educated guess would be around 30%. Out of that 30% probably 95% of those go on to pass on another attempt. In Michigan if you fail any of the three segments you have to wait at least twenty four hours and start over from the beginning. When it is all said and done the person that can't pass is extremely rare. In many ways the tests are much stricter than the real life every day work a world. How many times have we seen drivers that have many years driving experience have to do more than one pull up to do a 90% alley dock. Students can do pull ups but it cost them points. Too many points and they fail the range exercise portion. I guess I am saying we as experienced drivers should not be so hard on students trying to join our ranks.91B20H8 and Skate-Board Thank this.
