Gone are the days of the .EXE file and having the actual earth on your machine. Now it's done through the websight through the chrome browser.
I'm not seeing any use out of it now.
Anyone liking google earth these days on the pc?

I use google earth almost every evening. I am a traveler..skellr Thanks this. -
It's been years since I looked at it threw the pc file. Always been using the browser for quite a while.

Had to download it again, but for looking at places that need to get into it has been a good source, just wish it is up to date so the colors of the buildings would be the same.

This resource would have been precious if it was available in my time checking out the customers we're heading to.
I still do some traveling on slow hours here from home online believe it or not.
Sometimes someone posts a video here on TTR and I use the clues to pin point where it happened, Some videos are so easy to remember in location that is not necessary. It's a little game I play, where was this at?
Much of the nation is stamped on my brain, Google Earth and similar tends to reveal changes over time, changes I may not necessarily like.
If you think you are not seeing any use of it, you must be burned out or bored right now. Step away for a little, do something else and get back to it when you think you want to.
Typing in a customer's address into this thing, mapping it out to street view reveals many things to a trucker. It's not perfect for example where are the low bridges... but it's all there for the most part.
There are some limitations. Parts of the USA are blotted out so that we cannot see into sensitive areas but you can bet the farm you roll through it and see it with your own eyes. -
It's missing a lot of the features i use to use anyways.
