I have been having problems finding receiver that load or unload on weekends. Brokers will give the load, tell you the company is open on weekends. You cannot verify it before accepting the load because they will not give you delivery info until you sign the confirmation taking the load...help, The Hawk01

If you bid on a load delivering/picking up on a weekend and sign a rate con and are given info for that schedule and then you find out they aren't open then cancel the load! The broker has been dishonest with you. The contract is breached. It's not what you agreed to.

That said, i see lots of stuff moving on weekends in the southeast. I don't touch it but it's there.

    Things are limited on weekends.

In my experience the bigger grocery DC's like Walmart, Target, Costco etc are your best weekend delivery loads. I try to avoid them during the week, but won't hesitate to book a weekend load to a Walmart DC to stay moving, and make a little extra over the weekend.

Hasn't happened to me often. About my only pro tip about weekend loads is: make sure you're on time, and if it's a "FCFS until.." situation, get there as early as you can. Closer it gets to closing time with no trucks waiting, the faster they chain the gates and take the rest of the day off.

I've found that shipping/receiving times are worse than my bank lately! At least my bank is open a solid 8 hours a day and even half a day on Saturday.

Yeah, I'm feeling that a lot lately. I think a majority of us are generally trying to deliver a load first thing in the morning, which means after a couple hours you are empty and headed to your next pick up if you have one. That puts you there about 1100 in many cases, at least that's the way I typically run. Seems like if you get to lots of places around 1100 you've already gotten in to their 2 hour lunch hours. I don't see many trucks moving until 1 or 2. Kills your clock if it happens more than once a week.

I bill on a day rate basically. So if I pick that load up in the morning and it's close but they stop receiving at some ridiculous time like 3pm then it rolls into the next day so I have to quote that accordingly or lose revenue. I usually decline the move.

It's amazing to me how many places only receive until 2 or 3 pm. I run a lot of local loads, and it's tough to get loaded and roll to the delivery before they're closed.
