Looking for info on getting on a wireline crew. Any companies that may be hiring for it and any in's and out's of the job. Also any wage info and what areas are busy with this work.

My husband walked into Weatherford in Lloydminster, and walked out with a job a couple years ago.
From what I understand, its pretty much the same.
I couldn't help you out with the wage stuff - but I thought I'd at least throw a company at you.

Jrdude5 and RSQ Diver Thank this.

I did some research and I will be contacting Pioneer tomorrow. They are a growing company with newer equipment and appear to be very safety oriented. Anyone have any info on them?

Lots of big and small companies do wireline, from what I understand it pays quite a bit better than your average oilfield driving gig. Hourly pay may sometimes seem like but around here they run a LOT of hours (100 hour weeks not uncommon), OT after 40 hr, and on top of that most seem to have some completion bonus structure that adds quite a bit to the bottom line.

Looking into this myself, would really like to get on with Cudd in their nitrogen division, or coil tubing/slickline, but haven't talked to enough people to ease my nerves before pulling the trigger (I hate changing career paths even more than changing jobs..huge point of anxiety with me).

I will chime in here, cause my post count is low, and I can't reply to PM's yet....lame. When your looking for wireline, or frac, cementing etc jobs, your best way in is with a CDL. Not because you will be driving all the time, but because they want someone to move the equipment when needed.

So if you have quite a few years on a CDL with no bad stuff and you are in good physical shape, (former Marine and Firefighter/EMS First Responder), who do you look too for these job opportunities with good hourly pay, overtime and such?? I have a CDL A with all endorsements except passengers, and I have experience in all of those areas of my endorsements.
