that could be SHC. but still gotta get rid of the black smoke. supposedly caused by a failing turbo.
gets any worse and it's gonna get impounded for pollution.
only bright side of the smoke. is i told the company i won't be rolling into cali anymore.
i would LOVE to see this non aerodynamic truck in the 7's.
anyone out there that has rebuilt there turbo???

I wouldn't try and rebuild a VNT Turbo yourself. A lot more to them then a regular turbo

i'm gonna consider powerturbos.com. just got an email back that they can rebuild it for $695.
gonna have to borrow another truck looks like while it gets shipped to them. -
The turbo finally starting flowing oil on my ISX at just under 800,000. Cam went a few months earlier. I had no real issue with pricing on cam, but when it came to the turbo, I decided it was time to dump the ISX. I really liked the N-14, but I have not been a fan of the ISX since it came out. Even the pre-egr version.
That is why I decided to go with a glider truck order that I put in about a week or two after replacing the ISX turbo. No more ISX in my future. -
well, the turbo is at a local shop. says kits are now available for those cracked plates. $900 gets me a complete overhaul.
none too soon either. we was basically walking out of phoenix on that last load. LOL.
