Still what dose that have to do with getting a 34 hour restart at home? Unless your referring to them doing a restart away from home at which points its not home time anyway.

I have heard though, of that 27c Swift pays, about 10-12c of that is per diem pay. So really they are paying you about 17c per mile and giving you what you would get from the gov't anyway for per diem pay.

    Something to check on....

Not sure what you mean per diem pay. The way I understand the term in this industry, per diem is a purely tax related designation which does not affect take home pay, but the tax ramifications of the pay.

So if the check at the end of each week is computed and paid at .27 per mile, how is the per diem affecting you except at the end of the year?

If they send you home for the resets, and that's all they send you home for, IMHO you're not getting "home time" even though you're home. Yes, it's nice to be home, even for a day and a half... but when I think of "home time" I compare that to what other industries call "vacation"... should be something you earn, something you can take... at home...

I.E. if a recruiter promises to send you home "one day for every 7 you're out" and they send you home EVERY week for that 34 hours, they're not giving you anything more than is mandated by law- the only 'favor' they're doing is letting you have the reset at home- not earn 'home time'...

i may be way off base, so if so, please correct me... i'm not trying to argue anything... you'd know far better than I :biggrin_25514::biggrin_2559:

If your sent home to do a reset then its home time simple has that. Industry standard is "One" day off per week out. so if they sent you home once a week for a day and a half off ta da! Home time and a hours restart all on one nice neat package. I think your looking at the restart at home has actually being work time but its not has you have no job responsibilities during that time.

And a recruiter is just there to get you to orientation after that they have pretty much have nothing to do with anything.
