Hall St. is Old North St Louis and much worse than the east side. My great-grandparents are buried in that area from back when it was a Polish-German immigrant neighborhood.

You are right ! ...when I started hauling out of the brewery in the 80s the area off adalaide St on the south side of 70 was beautiful old brick homes that were well kept ...looks like a burned out slum last I saw .

A neighborhood that is "beautiful" by the definition of most people that would use that phrase is also likely constructed in such a way as to prevent any entry of trucks.

Last time I drove through the city was looking a lot better. That new bridge that by-passes the old cluster #### downtown is really nice. I remember growing up in the 80's my father would still take us downtown as a christmas tradition to see santa and it always looked like a war zone on the way in. Now its down to just a few buildings with that bombed out look. His childhood neighborhood completely emptied of the original European immigrants and is now really run down. Looking at google earth you can see all the vacant lots in those neighborhoods where the houses were torn down, which is a shame.

I'll have to look it up.

my one place in St Louis was the associated grocers at night. There is the only one downtown.

Combat pay anyone? I had a buck special on my belt for pallet wraps but kept it handy that night. I never did go back THANKS be to the lord. But that was one of the first few places outside of hunts point where i began to maybe learn a little bit of what it takes to be a sea of human predators who have nothing at all and burn with desire to slit your throat for what you have.

I had a drop on the west side of downtown recently and noticed they are starting to rehab that area ...

West Sidew baltimore centered on madownian mall is black, you don't have anything there except one diary and maybe a few places still operating back when. The rioters burned out a part of that area so.. they can have it.

Baltimore is known as Bodymore, Murderland. Or Mobtown. We fought occupiers and invaders dating to at least 1805 when no one else would. And still do.

However. I left that city because in my day you could walk from any part of city to any other part and literally travel the world in terms of people and food. Now all those people have died to be replaced by black and brown with the added fun of watching all the old industry paved over, replaced by parkland and condominium. No good to anyone.

It's a lost city as far as Im concerned, they can burn it.
