There are only two threads on this radio and both are more than two years old. Any current drivers use this radio? If so, do you like it and how good is it? I'm drawn to it because of it's smaller (Cobra29) size, which makes it more versatile as far as mounting locations in some of the newer trucks.
Anyone running a Mirage MX-36HP?

I have 2 friends thats been running them for about 2 years and they love em. About the same power as a general lee in a smaller case. About the same size as a 29.
Voyager1968 Thanks this. -
Well I pulled the trigger on the Mirage last night. The smaller footprint was the seller for me. We'll see how it goes, but almost every review I found during my searches yesterday were positive.

Did you get your Mirage? If so, what are your thoughts?

I have the Mirage 36, and have been using it now for about 6 months. Nice radio actually, it came with a SRA 198 Microphone from the factory which was a plus...Same size as the Cobra 29, mater-a-fact, the case looks just like the Cobra's... I have had it for over a year or two, and had it in another vehicle for a while, but decided to stick it in my work truck, since I'm in it more than my other vehicle it was in.
Sorta surprised really that you don't see more places selling them...
The Mirage 36HP is just a AM radio, but there's also a Mirage 86HP that has SSB. -

I bought one used. Its been worked on. The tech says 50 w. I'm not really seeing any difference from this or my vintage cobra LTD. They look the same.

I bought a used one from west at the Knoxville TA.
He says its tuned at 50w.
It doesn't seem any better than my vintage cobra LTD.
Hard to find out what it will do since most drivers don't have or use the cb nowadays.
