I need a new phone, but don't want a contract. Any drivers use straight talk and find it to work well OTR?

I had a phone like that starting out

    Page plus

They sell minutes @ every flying j
Unlimited for 50 buck I think
40 if you can find a smoke shop

Worked well for a couple years
It runs off both Verizon and att towers...strange right....

And yes they do sell minutes at every j the cashiers just don't do that transaction very often

Really you will want a smartphone
It really is a very useful tool and tax deductible so no ahead and getcha a good one!

Straight Talk uses 4 different service providers and depending on where you purchase it is what provider you get.

Online they ask you your zip code. At Walmart on the front of the box is a code. A Walmart might sell 1-2 codes of the four depending on the area and what towers are there. If they don't have the code you want go to another Walmart.

    CDMA = Verizon
    CDMA-S = Sprint
GSM = ATT (has the SIM card)

There's one more new one that I don't know. I think it's CDMA-?. You can figure it out. Maybe it's a T for T-Mobile?

OTR you want the Verizon one for best coverage. CDMA

It's from Walmart so it's crap! It's a great phone if you like dropped calls, no customer service, and phones that fall apart - typical walmart garbage!

I would just go with a better company, I know verizon and att also offer pre paid plans which will be better than straighttalk but not as good as their normal plans.
I have my phone setup to receive text messages for preplans, also use Google maps etc to see where im going so my phone is a work tool and can be used in tax deductions as well. Of course you need to make enough money in the year to make the deductions worth using :p

I have an old one that runs off verizon towers, that one works fine. The newer one we bought sucks, not sure which towers run it, isn't verizon though.

We have verizon contract phones, Work great. From everyone I have talked to they have either verizon or sprint, sometimes both. Sprint can have a better data plan. They both have prepaids.
