Most modern APU do have 120v output, or at least charge the truck batteries while running which would allow you to use an inverter.
Anyone using 120V to 12 V adapter to use traditional appliances?

I've had one of those lunch box cookers for over 20 yrs.
a real handy little suckerTaterFox, Bean Jr. and RussianBearTruckeR Thank this. -
All the APU on my truck does is run the compressor for the bunk AC and charge the batteries. It does nothing else. It does NOT run the heater or have anything to do with it. So if you want 120v you use an inverter and run the APU to recharge the batteries while you use it.RussianBearTruckeR Thanks this.

This device seems to me to be something you would use in the home to power 12 VDC items. Take VERY special notice of that 200 watts limit in the information. 200 watts is useless when it comes to appliances. Stay away from those round lighter plug inverters too. There has been some great advice given to you so far. And PLEASE if you do buy a good inverter have it installed by someone that has done this before.

Hey yall this is Deacon Blue here . I've actually got a super bada$$ inverter for sale. It's a Xantrex MS2000. Friggin monster at 65 lbs. It's in excellent working condition. Google it and then be sure that the price I'm asking is not unreasonable .....300$. I'm gone

The OP posted a link. Like I said though. This is for home use. I used to run an old CB at home off one of those.RussianBearTruckeR Thanks this.

Those are called transformers, make model trains go fast or slow around the track. He he he.
Otherwise if at home, it's full 120 volt power. Cooks stuff faster.RussianBearTruckeR Thanks this.
