Anyone with a Lilac Black Pete? or Black Lilac?

Lights along your trim on the bottom of the cab/sleeper/bumper/air cans. That sort of thing.

 

Years ago it was sais that if you hauled chickens and left a light on inside the trailer, they stayed calm.

Years ago peeps with big trucks (read fast, and something you may take a little pride in) were known as chicken haulers. A reefer was one of the easiest trailers to light up and look good as opposed to nowadaze when every flatbed manu makes an aluminum or aluminum combo flat which you can dress up to look nice. So it kinda expanded from there. At least that's my recollection.

 

You also have to spend an enormous amount of time looking after them too. No worries, you don't have to be lit up like a Christmas tree to look good, or to take pride in your truck either.

 

Yep. And if you were a tad heavy (never been so I can't speak personally, you understand ), you could swing your tirebeater against the side of the trailer and the chickens would flaps their wings and take a little weight off the axles as you rolled up to the scale.
