My truck is a 99. No inspections yet.
Running thru Nebraska tomorrow they'll probably pull me around back. Haven't been there for about 6 months..
Anyone with an exempt truck stopped yet?

The key is an engine that was made before 2000. It does not matter what year truck is.

Tall Mike Thanks this.

Just because someone claims it's a pre-2000 does not make it so.
When these engines go back to Detroit and get reman'ed, the factory is required to reset the "in-service-date" which, if it happens to occur after Year 2000, then it's no longer considered a "pre-2000"
A lot of people are going to be screwed by this little technicality.
Also to agree with you, OTOH, some people dont realize that its the engine year, not truck year that makes the difference -
strollinruss and windsmith Thank this.

I spoke with a senior Fitzgerald Glider contact about this issue as I'm in the process of helping my OTR buddy snag a Coronado with a pre-2000 motor.
Who I'm I to argue with people that actually build them. -
