C.R.E = Certainly Read Everything

Ok, a quick reading comprehension course; I said that I will be obtaining my license here in Maine. This means I will be going to school here in maine. That means that wherever I go, I will be going as a licensed operator. No need to attend anyone elses school asside from any orientation, driving test, probation or the like. This means that I will not be required to obtain a permit or license in any other state as, that bridge will have already been crossed.
Also, I stated that I have not decided to join C.R.E, at the time they were the only one out of 1/2 doz. to contact me after applying. I did talk to them about joining them as a licensed operator and was told that it wont be a problem, and I wont have to re-test.
I understand that if I were to go down the road of getting my class A through an out of state company (which will not happen) that it is only on paper and I wont be uprooting my family and the like. It's just one of my things.
I actually have done extensive research on many companies (which is how I got here in the first place) but, as I said, at the time they were the only one who had gotten in touch with me so they became the company of focus.
At any rate, thank you all again for your input. I appologize for breaking my own request of no rants but hey, it's my thread right? lol -
do yourself a favor and stay away from mega carriers!! get your cdl and worry about a job after. think mom and pop. look on craigslist and jobsinme.com if you want the mega carrier than try prime, at least they have an account with McCains in Easton and you could get home. Hartt and F.E. Peasley are looking for drivers but you`ll have to strech the truth to get on with them. they both want experiance. logs and fish work too if you don`t need to be on the road. look at local comanies you`ll be alot happier..

Checked with Prime as they were one of my first thoughts but, due to my location (extreme N.W Maine)they couldn't offer me anything. Of corse I would like to avoid stretching the truth but, gotta do what you gotta do!

everyone I ever met who was lease operator at CRE was broke, or #### near it.
-
I've heard the same thing. This is why I have no intention of leasing until I get some time under my belt and would NEVER do it with CRE. More than likely won't even go there. I've heard back from a couple other companies so, we'll see.
-
Heard stories of cre letting newbies sit....and say they are waiting for a company truck to send them out in....but then after a few days...they point out you can leave now in a leased truck...
Or wait more.....not many happy folks with cre after the first few weeks of leasing from what I have heard.. -
Finding a trucking job is like shopping for shoes, ' Not every one will fit '.....
I would never suggest anyone get involved with a Lease Purchase, but if the company is a good fit for ya, hire-on and drive the hell out of their equipment. Trucking isn't for everyone and too many are drawn to a promise of big bucks, but sometimes the money isn't there and money can't buy time...
