    Seat Meat!

You can not transfer an out of state license to California or Texas. Both States require you to pay the State Fee and take the written test and endorsements before qualifing for a CDL Class A.

As per the TX and CA DOT Websites.

If you are lucky and unemployed why would you want to work? Especially since driving a truck is one the hardest jobs. 14 hour shift driving 11 hours, sleeping in a truck, eating out of a can, peeing in bottles.....just wondering.

Their controller was doing pretty good till he got busted

A controller at C.R. England Trucking Co. was ordered held in jail Wednesday on charges he embezzled$1.3 million in cash paid by driving-school students.
U.S. Magistrate Paul Warner found Nathan Lee Kapp, of Syracuse, was a danger to the community and ordered him held pending a mental health evaluation.
Kapp was charged with five felony charges of mail fraud and money laundering for allegedly taking cash that students had paid for tuition at C.R. England truck-driving schools in Utah, California, Texas and Indiana.

Well, technicnaly I'm not unemployed but on workers comp. I want to get into trucking because most of my family and friends are in trucking and it has worked out well for them. I know it's hard, stressful work but, no more than, the restaurant industry which I was in for 17 years.

I certainly don't know everything, and can not personally say this is true, but I have read many threads where in orentation the companies will send people home because they are on workers comp, because they see them as a risk, or someone that will fake an injury. Be sure they know about the W/C, and have a definite OK before you invest time and money going to orientation. One of the questions will be have you ever received W/C.

I'm sure that will be a ? from just about everyone but, thats ok as I have all the doc. (and scars) to proove that this is not fake. 2 knee surgeries in 2 years from being hit by 4k# of steel roofing is pretty tough to fake.
