When I was going thru my training, I wrote this for my family and friends to help convey my observations and whatnot:

Things I’ve learned from driving a tractor trailer:

    1) Not all seats move forward enough for short people to fully depress the clutch.
    2) Never pull out in front of a rig or cut them off in traffic. They don’t stop on a dime. A fully loaded truck at 55mph can take over 300 feet to stop (longer than a football field). That’s not even factoring bad road conditions.
    3) Don’t tailgate a tractor trailer. If you’re very close, the driver can’t even see your side-view mirror from either side. Most trucks are standard transmission, so there is always a possibility of the truck rolling back at a stop or incline too.
    4) When at a stop, stay behind the white line. It’s there for a reason! That means the entire car, not just your rear tires. The further your car is past the line, the greater chance that a truck trying to turn that corner from either direction won’t make it, and will have to sit there blocking traffic until you have a green light to go. Not cool.
    5) It is possible to parallel park a rig, and it’s not as difficult as I thought it would be.
    6) Trucks have anywhere from 8 to 18 gears to go through, so be patient as they slowly get up to speed.
    7) I can see everything you are doing, heehee.

I'm sure there are more things to add, but that's all I can come up with right now. Safe travels!

    ^^ number 4 for sure.

Isn't it fun making a tight turn and watching the 4 wheelers squirm?

Yeah, it is pretty funny watching them get more and more nervous as you get closer to them, heehee.

BACK OFF! Idle for 5-6 seconds and create space that I can easily see in my mirror. Just because I fit doesn't mean I want to put myself in.that space. Like the man said - gimmie three steps and no one gets hurt.
