I'll see how the 198 sounds on the stock tune. I'm not expecting too much since it's going in a jeep with a 4' fiberglass antenna.

148 cobra is a good radio, it is not a ham radio it is a cb, add a astatic
636 LC DX-1 mic armored cable, and a COBRA External Speaker, I would use 5.5 foot Francis antenna because it is loaded length wise a\not a tight coil gives it a better signal pattern. -
I can't run a 148 in my jeep it won't fit. Plus I'm not a huge fan of them. I also prefer the audio quality of the 198 mic over the 636. Again no room for an external speaker, the radio will be over head so not a big deal. The 4' FSII antenna is the highest I can go with a spring and quick disconnect, any taller and I will be hitting everything on the trails.
