GPS is good when it is designed for trucks your operating, but even with trucks they should still be checked. I use mine just for the last few miles of the trip where you are in the city.
Walmart will cash up to a $1000 for $3.

Right on thanks for the info. I totally agree, i just figure a commercial gps has got to be just a hair better for the truck than the non commercial one I've got now. ANYTHING the gps lady says is taken with a grain of salt lol before i blindly follow it... hell if i did i would've been stuck between two mainstreet usa buildings long before now fined and fired lol -

I have the RM TND-720 GPS. The map in the GPS is an electronic copy of the paper RM atlas (which I also have in the truck), and it is updated more frequently than the paper copy. I use the GPS as my primary routing tool, backed up by google maps and satellite view at the shipper and receiver. I know how to tweak the GPS settings and add waypoints to get the routing that I want if I feel that the default GPS routing is not the most efficient. It is rare that the RM GPS will route me through an illegal truck route or low clearance, but it has happened. More often than not, it will tell me that a route is not truck legal when in actuality it is.
As for cashing checks, I simply opened an account at PNC Bank since they have branches everywhere that I go. I'm not a fan of big banks, but since I'm always traveling it's something that I'm forced to consider. -
An alternative is to use a Credit Union that participates in the national credit union network. You can tell by this logo:
Unfortunately very few have truck parking... -
I had 39 cents in my pocket, and a 900.00 plus check. I bought 100 gallons, Cashed my check, & took a shower. Slept, then left. Normal day.

Yikes sorry to hear you had that experience. Thankfully i don't think it's the case with this company. My boss is what I'd call "old school" to be honest i think he likes having the drivers come to his office to get the checks and chat for a few minutes, perhaps mention talking about whos average'n the best fuel prices and ask if my new truck is working out well...
But between the new trucks and second branch in lincoln i dont think he's hurting for casLast edited: Apr 28, 2013

............ where? What truck stop? -
Sorry if I am a little confused...if you are going into the office to get your checks isn't there a local bank you can open an account at to cash your check?

If a company does not have direct deposit, run! he's paying you now but wait two months! thats a red flag!
