I started my school last-night, we started going over the paperwork and manuals, what to expect. Seems Ohio has a mandate on how truck driving schools are allowed to work. It's a minimum 160 hours total, 40 hours in class, 120 hours driving. So far I've only met one instructor, he seems to be pretty laid back, so much so that he has a monotone voice that it gets boring. Almost hard to concentrate. He said that once he learns how we learn it'll liven up some. Other than that it seems like a decent class. According to the syllabus we start getting hands on with the trucks tonite, and we start working with them on the range starting next Thursday.should get interesting. Their trucks are all 2008 to 10 freightliners with 13 speeds. They have a very strict maintenance program for them, and boast they have only had 3 people not pass in 10 years of the instructor being there. They seem to take people in for refresher courses, and at some point we will gain 2 more students bringing our total to 5. 3 full students, and 1 refresher, & 1 person that has to drop out off the class during the driving range due to family problems.

Any time a trainer starts with "He said that once he learns how we learn it'll liven up some"
than that is a good sign not everyone learns the same way or at the same speed. So if your trainer tell you this that is the sign of a good trainer.
