Another person already said this but I did long trips the same way. Divide total miles by 25mph. So if you have 2500 miles/ 25 mph you will need 100 hours. That just a little more the 4 days, 100 hours/ 24 hours in a day is 4.16 days.
If you're wondering were the 25 mph come from. If you can drive 600 miles a day/24 hours in 1 day is average speed of 25mph. If you want to drives 500 miles a day. 500/24 is 20.8 mph average will call it 21. So 2500 miles /21 mph would be, 119 hours.
119/ 24 hours is 4.95 so basically 5 days if you drive 500 miles a day or 4 days if you drive 600 miles a day.not4hire Thanks this. -
Bad weather, like heavy snow, I add 50% travel time. Might sound like overkill, but I find it’s often realistic. 50 mph average can often be beat, in good weather, with the higher speed limit now. All the more reason to use 50 mph average. Assures being on time. Keeps it simple that way. Mileage 800x2=16 hrs. Add a 10 hr break= 26 hrs travel time. 300 x 2= 6 hrs. 250x2=5hrs. No need to even use a calculator.
