I have an iPhone on Verizon and a iPad 2 that I use on the road.

Eff the walled garden. Jailbroken Ipad and Iphone. Its pretty much a requirement for me to have my Iphone jailbroken as I have an app that keeps my Iphone on wifi even when not being used. Since I travel across border and my Iphone doesn't have data in the states. (Not willing it pay the insane price.) I tether my Ipad Air to it which has a Verizon unlimited data sim card in it.

My Ipad is my GPS and I've considered upgrading it to an Ipad pro but not quiet in the mood to replace my Ipad mount.

No, it's not about "droid vs iPhone"... It's a thread about what truckers that use apple tech have in their trucks. Sorry for the confusion.

The iPad Pro would make for one very large GPS... I personally can't imagine that big of a screen mounted to my windshield but having a trucking map app and weather (or other) app open side by side would be interesting.

Been thinking about venturing into jail breaking my old iPhone 4S now that I upgraded to the iPhone 6S Plus in the truck. What's a good starting point for a new jail breaker that just wants to play around with it?

Mines not mounted to my window but to a ram mount that was installed for my qualcomm. (Which lives on my driver seat instead.)

I might need to upgrade to a bigger ball for the Ipad as there already a bit of wiggle with an Ipad and I'm sure it would get worse with a bigger tablet.

Attached is a picture of the Ipad in the prostar. I'm too lazy to take a picture of it mounted in my current kenworth.

Ah, now there's an idea!!! My QC doesn't do much for me while driving... And the iPad could be simply removed when stopped... I might need to run with this concept a bit and see how I could use that QC mount for an iPad...

    Thanks!!!

Thinking about adding an Apple TV for light gaming IF I add a tv that is... Has anyone played with the new ATV yet?

And, El Gato used to make a digital antenna that worked with macs and now they make one for iPhone/iPads but only in Europe... Anyone know of an adapter to connect an antenna to an iPad so I don't buy a tv?

Anyone have a Router set up in their truck? I was just thinking about different options one could set up if one had a router... Not all are practical for a truck environment.

One could hook up an Apple TV then toss video from the iPhone or iPad up to the TV without the need for wires.

One could set up a wireless security cam although that would have minimum use in a truck. (Maybe watch lot lizards roam from truck to truck... lol)

Does AirDrop require users to be on the same network? Never used it yet.

Any other ideas if one had an Apple Router set up inside the truck???

My Ipad is the wireless internet for my truck in the US acting as a hotspot for: Iphone, Laptop, TV, Nexus tv, console.

In canada I have a hotspot device which has a router built into it.

I'm thining of switching to a cradlepoint with modems in it to make it a single network instead of two.
