If I was let go from a carrier due to "non performance" (late on a load 3 times) is that fact disclosed to potential new employers of are just dates of actual employment disclosed only? Thanks
Application question advice?

It is and probably on your DAC.Three times being late is a bit much.Potential employers will probably want your story on why the late load performance.
-
guess that would depend on who you apply with. if it was me i would not say or place anything on the app about it. if they find out and ask, tell'em.
there is such a shortage of drivers, i do not see any problem of you finding a job -
It's probably on your DAC report. There's many companies that will hire you since you weren't fired for wrecks, failed drug test, speeding tickets, etc. With 3 years experience you won't have any problem finding a new job.
-
Be honest on everything on your app, small companies usually do not get DAC records
-
According to DOTJobHistory.com a DAC report contains:
- Identification of Driver. (Name, SSN, DOB)
- Identification of Contributing company (Address and phone number) and date contributed
- Period of Service (Month/year)
- License Number
- Eligibility for rehire
- Reason for leaving (e.g., driver quit or discharge, etc.)
- Status (e.g., owner operator, company driver, etc.)
- Driver Experience (e.g., single driver, team, etc.)
- Equipment Operated (e.g., reefer, dry box, etc)
- Loads Hauled (e.g., general commodity, etc)
- Work Record (e.g., satisfactory, cargo loss, etc.)
You were fired. That doesn't mean your former company wants to hinder your future employment.
Never lie on an app. But I wouldn't worry too much about it. You'll get on somewhere. Might be for the best, you might have to work your way back to your former pay/status.Victor_V Thanks this. -
I'm curious about the reasons behind you were late. Our post office runs were 'timed' runs, meaning you were allotted just enough time and not any more. With a C-15 it was good; with a C-12 you sweated every shift. They were #####y if you were late and five minutes late meant a '5500' against the company and the run. Busted butt to arrive on time but if late, okay, late. We never worried about it.
Weather, traffic, breakdowns and the like all factored in.
Gordon had no humor about 'Service Watch' loads; claimed a minute late and you failed the load. But then they pulled things like giving you just enough to get there, called it a 'Service Watch' load when the delivery window might be another 24, 48/hours out or more!!
No problem if you don't feel like going into it.
I'm just curious whether you got a fair shake.
Sounds capricious, arbitrary on the part of the company.
Depending on the time frame and nature of the load.
