New to trucking. Im a unemployed cop that was terminated for conducting a drug investigation on a newly promoted sgt. In turn I was fired after 17 1/2 years for insubordination. Currently the case is arbitration yet my whole goal is to get back pay and a clear record. I have applied to TMC and they turned me since I was terminated. I am decorated officer, no points on MV, no criminal record so why cant I drive for a great respectful company.

I live in Michigan. Does anyone have any good advise on who to go with to start. There is to many threads talking smack about various companies. Im looking for a company that has good home time, benefits right out of the gate and a company which treats the driver as a human and not a machine. I was great cop and treated citizens with respect. I stood up for the guys in my department and tried to do the right thing.

TMC used to be a decent outfit. Read up on what they did to some of their veteran drivers. I used to be with maverick. They had good hometime and pay. Might holler at some of their current drivers and see how they are running.

Being from MI, well that might be a problem all in itself. What part of MI are you in?
Getting you home, to a state that sees very little inbound freight will be an issue.

The Bottom line is these Days if you want to Truck, you'er going to have to be able to Drive for the worst and go where they Point you and take whatever is given and like it(or at least pretend to). If you have a Home Life(ie Wife and Kids) then Maybe Trucking isnt such a good thing.

In other words,if you have no Experiance then you'er going to have to start at the bottom and go with whoever to wherever for at least a year.
