Hi all, New to the forum.
We have just purchased our first truck and have applied for our authority. Currently leased on to a local intermodal broker, but getting tired of the nonsense. Getting our game plan in place to hit the road.

QUESTION: Is OUR credit a factor in applying for factoring? I was surprised to see this on the factoring application. We do have some credit issues from a previous business venture (don't ever sign as a personal guarantor) and I am hoping this will not stand in the way of being eligible to factor our loads.

If anyone has any insight into this, I would appreciate any feedback. Thank you so much

Thanks for your reply. I couldn't message back, I gather because I have not made enough posts. I will definitely check it out. I was surprised when they began asking that info, authorization to check etc...Good luck to you as well.

Good credit is not really an issue with factoring companies. They want to ensure that their status as a secured creditor is not in conflict with any other financing agreements you may have in place.

You need to fully understand the UCC-1 form they will file with your home state, which gives them the right to lien your assets (home, personal property, account receivables, etc.) in the event one or more of your customers doesn't pay them.

Factoring may seem to be a good way to get your money faster. However, you may find yourself in a very difficult situation if things go bad.

I am hooked up with a factoring company and I have found out they have a very bad reputation according to some folks.Read the contract carefully, and shop around for the best companies.I skipped over some of the contract and now I wished I had not.My credit apparently did not have anything to do with my factoring
