I spend a good bit of my time on two lane roads in Ontario. One lane either direction. There's always a sign warning of an upcoming passing lane. The passing lane is usually on an uphill part of the road. So, here's what I have been seeing a lot of lately. Passing lane is coming up, a big truck that is faster than me is right on my bumper. We hit the passing lane, the other big truck keeps to the left and tries to pick up speed to get by me going up the hill. Now wouldn't it make sense to stay back a bit? Not just because tailgating is stupid, but then the driver could pick up speed before hitting the hill and get by quick and easy. Just one of those things I don't understand.

hey there tim, i drive up that way quite often in my 4wheeler (still waiting for the stike to end so i can take my drivetest :( ) and i see that all the time. many times the signs give you at least 2 km warning and sometimes 5 clicks so there is no reason at all for the trucks to come up that close , just drivers in a hurry. speed limit on 69 is only 90 and even if i go 110 they still tailgate. no reason for it at all. anyhow, hows the employment situation up round sudbury? i live in southern ontario but have lots of family in and around sudbury-northbay and wouldn't mind moving that way if i can find a decent driving job up there when i finally get my licence.

Not sure who, if anyone, if hiring new guys right now. Hopefully when drivetest gets back to work you're one of the first to get your license. There's going to be a major flood of new drivers looking for work.
