    It took me 2 months and 1 week, but I went on vacation for a week during training and came right out of school. The next month after that was spent making better money running out and backs. After that I was released into the system.

    It all depends on the trainer you get. My second one was about the money he made. I'd still be in his truck driving him around if I hadn't got the terminal manager involved.

    I could out train my second trainer on accident. Unfortunately, the industry believes that experience equates to good trainers.

    It can be done in as little as a month or you could get a guy like I had. Experiences are different across the board.

    Mack must've been the 'intern TM' at this time, am I right? I had Carl, out of Wilmywood, give me my road test. REALLY nice, laid back guy. Saw him a few times in HP waiting on delivery for the next morning.

    I am a driver trainer, and the one thing I won't do is keep a trainee longer than they need. As soon as I see that they can handle the job they get kicked out of my truck right into their own truck

    It was 10 years ago but I am pretty sure I got a couple of extra weeks with a trainer because they didn’t have a truck for me. Drove a day cab doing local work for 2 weeks solo while the regular local guy was out right after being released.

    always wondered what the 'local guy' does out of HP. I've met(can't remember name) the guy that works at Solenis. I know he usually brings loads back to terminal and shuttles empties over there. Also, shuttle trailers around over there. Same for the guy at P & G. But there are 2 other guys I always wondered what they do?
