Mine even would die at trains. -
That is a health and safety issue. Have him tell safety to either get it fixed, give him a new truck, or he'll call OHSA. That should get their butts moving. There is no reason whatsoever to put up with it.

There is a laugh.
Tried that.
Dispatch said take another load.
Took the truck 43 miles to the yard to get fixed and they threatened to fire me for moving the truck illegally. -
You have to stand up to the disfunctionals. Like I said, there is no reason to be without heat in this weather. Make some calls to government outfits and get reports started. They can and will get things moving.

They are on the side of the owners and do not care about drivers. -
Well now, then that royally sucks. I think I'll stay up here and deal with the cold. LOL
-
Your other option would be to do a little sabotaging. If the truck is broke down and need to be fixed then you will have to take it to a shop! Leveler arm on your air bags is a good one!

Hmm, somehow got a bolt that went through the rad. Guess it needs to be repaired. Oh, and while you're at it fix the APU.

Hope he is not having the same problem I saw another FLEET driver having the other day. Said he had no heat and APU was not working , his DM had sent him to THERMOKING 3 times , lot of hassles like they did not want to work on it , sat for a few days nothing done ecte.
Pointed out to him it was not a TRIPAC ( THERMOKING ) but a WEBASTO APU. His company has like 99% of their trucks with TRIPACS and a few with other makes / models.
