I just looked, there is no reset button anywhere on the top box. I saw the video, and many pictures of this reset button, my box has holes where it looks like a button should go, but the hole is empty and goes through and through. No reset button anywhere.

That is where I checked, around the outside of the box just like the video, there is NO button on it anywhere. There is a hole where the button should be according to the video but it's empty, I can stick a pencil through it. There is another hole on the front ride side, same thing, I can stick a pencil through it.

Just found this on another post:

"What model TriPac do you have? The older style had a reset button on the side of a vertical box which was usually in the passenger side box. The newer Evolution model does not have that button, resets are done by turning the unit off and on at the control panel. The unit will not start if the switch on the actual TriPac engine is in the off position, which you will have to open the panel like you are checking the oil to see. If you have an Evolution with the DPF it will also not start if the regen switch is pushed down, or the toggle switch beside it is in the off position."

So a reset clears the code, it starts and shuts off even after the reset.

I could never find the coolant lines for the APU but I think I've found them. Two yellow knobs just under the accumulator. They were both closed, I opened them, testing APU now. I do believe it's a coolant temp issue as the first time I start it after it's been off for a while, it runs for maybe 2 minutes and shuts off, if I start it again, it runs for a few seconds and shuts off. Fingers crossed...will post a picture for those who are new to the APU world like me.

BINGO that's the trick there. Those #### valves, yall were right. I just didn't know where the heck they were nor did I think that I had the package where it had coolant lines going up to the tractor radiator. I always thought I didn't have it cause it never seemed to warm up my motor, but during my research into this issue I discovered that it only heats the coolant up to 55 degrees which means the temp gauge on the dash is still gonna read like it's completely cold. So all good. Posting a picture in a few so others like me can find their valves.

In this picture, you can see the two yellow valves. These are on the passenger side. These are your APU coolant lines.

You are awesome, that was a fix for my unit also with the same symptoms coming from service at a dealer.

It's your engine ground. Hook a #1 or #2 awg jumper cable up aywhere on your tripac engine block and run it up to your semi truck alternator mounting bolt and it will fire up great and stay running strong. I bet your inverter was saying 12.5 volts b4 while tripac was running with a bad ground or not running at all or trying to start and going off on ENG code and popping the reset button on the circuit board casing under bunk. With that jumper cable hooked up it will start up fast and your inverter will show 13.5 to 13.8 volts charging batteries. Run a #2 wire from your tripac engine block bolt directly to the negative side of battery or to the truck alternator mount bolt. The alternator has a direct wire from its casing to the negative side of battery so thats a great ground also. I had to do this to my old truck as well.

It's a bad ground. Take top cover off and hook a #1 or #2 awg jumper cable to the tripac engine block and run it to the truck alternator casing/mounting bolt and it will fire up 1st try and run 13.5 to 13.8 volts on your inverter. There is a negative battery wire that runs directly to the alternator casing to the negative side of the battery. Thats the best ground directly to the negative side battery. When ground is bad or weak your inverter will say 12.5 v if it runs or it won't start or tries to start and pops reset button on circuit board casing and eng code goes off on thermostat pad. Run a thick ground wire to negative side of battery or to the truck alternator mounting bolt and problem solved. I had to do this to my old tripac and truck. Good luck.
