In the last few years, all patient files are confidential. No hospital can release any info on any patient, past or present. Can an employee sneek into the file and look? probably, but not likely. There is no data base for trucking companies to seek out medical info. The only way anyone knows anything about you is what you put down on your app/long form physical. You cannot lie about a previous medical procedure if it is obvious, such as open heart surgery, because you will have a scar. After you get your completed long form physical and take it to the DMV, the physical you get 2 years from now will need to match as far as physical ailments are concerned that were noted. As far as trucking companies are concerned, if you pass your DOT physical, that is good enough for them to hire you.
