Bad trainer I can believe. Bad sdm I can definitely believe. Bad company? Not really. I trained for the company in question for almost 2 years and ran into some really undesirables in the training department. Werner is a good company to start out with and if the thing holding you back from them is a bad trainer, get a new one. If you can't communicate with the sdm, call your original recruiter. They usually will do whatever they can to keep you happy to keep you with the company. They lose part of their bonus pay if you don't finish training.

It's hard when starting out with any company and especially hard if you are stuck with a fool of a trainer. Don't give up.

Finish your training where ever and by the end of it you will know if you are cut out for otr driving.

    Good luck.

no my driver trainer would crap between the fram rails of the deck plate by the glad hands which sucked for the next poor sob that walked around the yard at night looking at the trailer lights at night.

Can't say either way with any of those companies but you need to decide if you want to pull flatbed, reefer, or van. Depending on the frieght you want to haul depends on the company you should go with.

My best advice: talk to AT LEAST 10 drivers with each company you are looking at and listen to what they say. 10 is a good sampling and if there is a problem you will know.

Recruiters a lot of times will say what you want to hear to get you in, then you get there and feel like "since I'm here..."

    Good luck

I have no personnel experiance with any of those companies, but all of the TMC drivers I have encountered and talked to on the road are treated well and seem to be satisfied. I would stay away from Star they were just bought out by Covenant and every driver I have talked to from Covenant is full of complaints, including my in laws who just turned their truck back into Covenant. You definately need to decide what type of freight you plan to haul, if it is flatbed I would say give TMC a try, above all stayaway from Arrow that's who I work for but not for much longer. Good luck

Sorry to hear you are having such a bad experiance to start out, definately get a new trainer and sdm, og go to a differant company. Just remember all recruiters are full of b.s. and you can't believe anything they say, but no not all trainers are that bad it's like everything else there are good and bad in the world you just got one of the really bad ones and I would get the hell out of that situation asap, but don't give up on trucking from one ####### who doesn't bath or try to teach you anything.
Hope you have better luck in the future

OK, you've found out that some truck drivers are nasty as hell. I took a shower EVERY day, even in the winter, EVEN if I didn't do anything that day but drive. you've also found out that trainers (like anybody else in life) can be incompetent ########.

I dealt with that with my first job with TransAm. had 2 trainers with them, the first was an idiot who I couldn't understand half the time, the second was a black ####### who hated white people. I was with TransAss for 3.5 weeks. I had to get out of the truck with the second guy and take a bus home (at MY expense.) TransAsshole didn't ask me what happened. evidently they didn't care.

no, not all companies and trainers are like what you've experienced. you HAVE to get the right trainer or you won't make it. if the company you're with won't get you someone who can help you become a truck driver, you'll just have to find another company.
