I was curious if there are any trucking outfits out there that don't have governors ? Or, what are some of the higher mph governed trucks ? Thanks, BT

I pay 10% of gross and you have a wide open truck.

Insurance probably mandates governors. You want to hammer down, get your own truck.

    Yup.

Not to mention fuel savings. Mach 90 might get you there quicker......but never cheaper. Most all concience fleets are penny pinching fuel .........if they are smart.

Most "drivers" these days can barely handle a 65mph truck.
God help us if they got one that would roll.

Has anyone debunked the myth, that stabbing the throttle 3 times on a governed truck, will temporarily override the gubnor. Is that true?

Schneider finance leases are wonderfully ungoverned even though I leased on with Schneider. I was surprised by this considering Schneider is a mega. Still, I rarely push it. Fuel savings are important and so is tire wear and tear. Where an ungoverned truck comes in handy is when dealing with morons on the road. Great for punching it and getting away from them FAST. Being ungoverned also means being extra cautious, especially when driving in California because the potential tickets become huge due to the option to get carried away while passing those huge convoys of trucks lead by a local drivers going 54 mph and everybody is scared to pass him.

are you a fully licensed CDL holder, (with at least 1 - 2 years experience), or are you still in school..??

i ask that, cuz if you ain't even got your CDL yet, you should NOT be concerned with driving ungoverned trucks.

you ain;t gonna get there any faster, trust me.
