uh...nooooo
when driving down there in the "geriatric state", people NEED to pay attention while the senior-citizens run red lights, crash into bus stops, run over people, all while rushing to the 4 PM early bird dinner....![]()

Few years back I had deliveries in Shakey and Hayward...... and the radio went quiet on I-5 but there were trucks....... so I asked at the fuel stop......they don't run 19 out there. I believe they were on 17 on the south end and 35 up towards Hayward and I couldn't find anybody around Bakersfield on the flip......
Also, the onion guys use hand signals. If you see a bear shooting radar, that's a peace sign turned sideways. I didn't stay long enough to learn the smoke signals used. -
Honestly I think most drivers either keep it off or turned down because they are texting or on the phone while driving. Ever noticed most drivers are wearing a headset while driving. I keep mine off because I rather listen to my XM radio. My truck will only go 59 MPH so I really am not worried about that (full grown) in the median with his toy.

iv never had much trouble getting someone on the cb, even when its real quite out if you need to ask a question about something i have almost always got a response, part of it is knowing how to talk on there if you start rolling off a bunch of slang like smokey and the bandit your likly to not get a response, if your new to trucking you will get the hang of it by listing more than talking, before i made my move to big trucks i was driving pick em ups with 38ft goosneaks all over the country doing polished concreet floors never went anywhere without my cb somtimes if no one is on 19 try 5. and remember a properly set up cb system with a good antiana will help your receive as well as your transmit the further your range the more people you can talk to. when you came up on your truck inspection someone may have called it out 8 miles ahead of you and if you didn't hear it the guy 4 miles ahead of you assumed everyone around them heard it as well and didn't call it out again. i cant count the number of times the cb has kept me from running over things in the road avoiding hazzard and knowing about that break check 5 miles up the road before i get there. some of it depends on the region you are in as well and some area's use channels other than 19. but make sure your cb is functioning properly and has good range, i get 8-10 miles sometimes more in good conditions with a stock barefoot radio and a good properly tuned ant.

Or the other drivers figured anyone that concerned about a check point probably needed to be inspected.
Had a bunch nashing their teeth about Tn opening up I-40 307 yesterday complaining they got tickets because nobody told them to go around
No you got a ticket because you@ #$#!##$% deserved one you@ #$%$$###!
CB is good for telling drivers of blocked lanes" wrecks, and bad weather conditions. Too many wax paper seated sissies spend their day monitoring LEO's location and" Whater' the Coops Duin" -
