K, I'm thinking I get the gist.... Cleveland based company, then the Pittsburgh'ers want to try to establish shop in your town? Neighborhood rivalry?...... I'm in Maine, We've got 3 'big' cities: Portland, Augusta & Bangor. Isn't any squabbling because ANY business is good for the State at this point.... We've syrup, water & wood.... our biggest income is tourism.... Tourism........................... Yeah... Tourism. 'Vacationland' the license plate says. Unless you live here. Then you realize it's about broke.

I can't speak to the state's economic health but I love Maine. Except on holiday weekends. Good god the northbound traffic is insane.

 

You guys need that frosting factory I was purposing if only there was a way I could start a chocolate frosting factory in Maine. The frosting would be made in Maine and put into tankers where it would be moved to a whole sale frosting distribution facility and put into smaller delivery trucks and then trucked to the bakery where the delivery truck would fill up the bakery's frosting silo.

 

I've only been to Maine once that was back in 97.

Alright everyone I'm out I must go to sleep all this fun has made me tired. I think we got this thread far enough off track that my work here is done.

 

Exit 2 - Kittery, just a little past that there's a sign that says 'Open For Business.'.... I always chuckle.

It's a service industry State that is suffering brain-drain. Young people are trying to bail faster than a guy with a hole in the bow of his boat.

Beyond there being few intellectual jobs here there are NO manufacturing jobs. The paper mills are closing.... then there's a rumor - someone is gonna buy it! - then they bail out.... Then there's another rumor! Someone's gonna buy it.... Then they bail out....... Small wonder most of us are drunk most of the time. Eases the depression; curbs your 'give a ####'.

I spent enough time up there in a truck to feel a little like I did live there. Portland always struck me as a nice little seaside town when I'd run through instead of the bypass. Do you live in one of those baller waterfront condos KT?
