He is as far as I'm concerned, especially if he's running a smoothbore.
There are some around here who would even go so far to insult the collective intelligence of those like myself who drag long boxes locally by saying we are not "truckers".
Whatever.
Please, feel free to tell us more, oh east end of the west bound horse.![]()

I consider myself a delivery Route Truck Driver. I mostly drive a day cab with a 28', but for the past month I've been in a 26' straight truck. I shuttle 48' and 53' on occasion as well. I deliver auto-parts, which is 100% touch, and I also completely load my trailer/box truck myself. I've been at my company 5 years and have ran 600 mile linehauls in a 53', and done 230 mile 11 stop routes that took 6 hours in pup/straight truck. I've also had to do routes with a 48', which is no fun at dealerships.
I used to work for Pepsi in Chicago. Ran 40' trailers downtown, which wasn't fun.
I guess my point is that I'll always take a 28' pup or straight truck anyday! Running a route with a 48' sucks (linehauls/shuttling is fine) and I haven't done so in over a year. I don't give a crap if I'm looked down upon. I get paid well, and don't get looked at as much by the DOT.Mike2633 Thanks this.
