Any more don't real truckers have drive through head sets permanently attached to there heads, wear jogging suits, drive white Volvo 760's and wear flip flop sandals everywhere? Isn't that any more a modern day real OTR trucker?

Mr Ed and KillingTime Thank this.

I saw a guy on Thursday an auto hauler out in Buffalo, New York at a Ford Dealership pouring down big heavy rain drops. He's parked in the middle of the street unloading which is common for auto haulers see that all the time. He's got shorts on and barefoot flip flop sandals on and a rain jacket with hood covering his head. He was unchaining some car standing in the rain and the cold, I was just watching this going, gee you know climbing around those auto trailers and doing all that chaining I wouldn't want to be wearing flip flops especially in the rain.

My trainer whilst I was with Werner used to call day-cabbers 'Part Time Truckers'.

I'd rather be a part time trucker.... I reap the benefits of OT, eat better, sleep in my own bed and I don't have to smell urine baked lots, out wait a 30-min break shopping and shower for fuel - cause the guy decided to do all that on the island - or piss in a jug.

Mr Ed and Mike2633 Thank this.

Time, what are you hauling back there? That's pretty heavy 3 axles. Are you hauling water or gas/oil I don't see any HAZMAT Placards or syrup or chocolate frosting for topping cakes with? Are you hauling water from a natural spring to a brewery where they make beer with the natural spring water? There's a small brewery in Canada where they go to a spring and get there water from it.

    KillingTime Thanks this.
