I’ve talked to Peterbilt about it but now they act like it’s some mystery engine that nobody can get their hands on. It’s supposed to be 450 pounds lighter than an MX13.
are current production trucks really this badly built?

I know for what you do the weight savings are beneficial for how you’re paid... all of the Paccar powered Kenworths I’ve driven are just so sluggish compared to the Cummins. I’m definitely no Cummins fan boy either, but can you get the same performance outta the smaller motor? -

Another truck went to kw for repairs. He has 6 trucks there right now. One of the drivers was going down an interstate and the truck went into PTO mode. It's an autoshift, it put itself into neutral and ran the rpms up to 2,100 rpm. Having a truck freewheel at that speed is not a good think. Back to kenworth it went, it had just come back from kenworth less then 2 weeks ago. It's another T880 autoshift 18 with a paccar mx13

Sounds to me like he needs to get away from the Eaton Autoshift transmissions.

I'm sure glad these new trucks make such good fuel mileage!! It amazes me that the money saved is more than they spend on all their downtime and repair bills!! I mean, they keep buying them so apparently that's how it works right??? I don't know why I keep my old Detroit ten speed. I mean, I work myself to death in this thing and never get all that off time and still would make more money. Wow I am really dumb I guess.....
Rubber duck kw Thanks this.
