you think drivers are bad? I’ve seen forklift guys go inside a trailer at full speed, only getting stopped by the head board.

truck 90 is driven by a 40 year trucking vet. he knows how to take care of a truck. he was an owner op but sold his trucks (2) so he could take a home daily job (milk truck, transport). he is 62 years old and his wife has health problems. I know for certain he did not beat his truck up.

it's called at least 2 things..

    1) planned obsolescence (planned on being obsolete in short time)

    2) job security to the foreign companies/employee's that build American products.

i think he means the overall scope of the industry and moronic steering wheel holders, over true professional drivers.

well recently we had a driver take a T800 sleeper with a 13 manual. he left the red button in the high position which locks out the range selector. he attempted to start the truck out in 5HI with a fully loaded trailer. he slipped the clutch to "get it moving", this caused extreme heat and melted said clutch LOL...… the very first time he drove it he smoked the clutch through complete stupidity. that also happened when I was on vacation. they replaced the clutch in our shop.
