If carriers did that it would shut down the economy of the nation. @Studebaker Hawk was also right. This also shows up in all the tracking that has started. Pretty soon drivers will have probes stuck up their rears just to crank up the engine.
are current production trucks really this badly built?

Well i put almost a year in on the autos. Was in the freightliner dt12 for about 8 months and then a 2020 kw t680 with the eaton for about 3 months. The dt12 was way better hands down but had alot of problems with it that would never happen in a manual. When it would get real cold , it wouldnt shift out of 7th gear first thing in the morning. It would leak air out of the top of it and make u fail the air test for pre trip. Had to get that fitting replaced and took 3 days+ to get fixed. And everyonce in awhile u would be driving along and the thing would glitch out and drop into neutral. Usually when u was trying to get down the hill. The manual is and will always be the inferior transmission in my opinion and i wont ever drive an auto again, it is one thing as a company driver and ur not footing the bill for repair but if u paying for equipment and the maintenace on it , i think u are better off running a manual , they will always be cheaper to fix and less things that can go wrong with it

I don’t consider the potential for people having to give up a bit of the instantaneous gratification they’ve become accustomed to a shutdown of the economy.
Every business on the face of the earth with a labor force on the payroll has a right both to have standards, and to expect their equipment to not get destroyed by the stupid people of the world.
