Lets say someone wants to us you as a mule and puts illegal stuff in the trailer, and on a Border Patrol or customs Checkpoint they brake the seal and discover the illegal stuff, is the driver responsible?

When I went for the FAST card I was surprised that I was asked how much money it would take for me to cross with drugs, why would they ask me that,
1 the trailer will be sealed out of the factory
2 IF the seal was intact why would a driver be responsible, even if I was a victim on a unsuspected smuggling,
3 why do they think drivers could be smugglers if the trailer seal is intact

If drugs were posted, would the mailman be responsible if the package was found on his van while out for delivery?. How about UPS and Fedex?.

Based on watching alot of Border Wars, the driver always gets taken in and at the end of the show they have a summary of how long the driver is going to be imprisoned. It will suck if the seal is intact yet they hang the driver but then again things can be "resealed" to make it look like it came from the factory.

Someone who I met told me that the post is the biggest drug delivery system in the country. Drugs are repackaged as electronics, with false return addresses, in sealed mylar bags. Typically, the recipient is held liable, when the officer delivers it to the door, dressed as a mail carrier.

Seeing as these same packages are on UPS, FedEx, and USPS trucks, I don't see how the driver could be held responsible, provided that the driver is legitimately unaware and not involved. If you were to breakdown every package on one of those trucks, I guarantee that you would find some drugs.

Expect at the very least... To be taken to jail, while they investigate. And if a few people mention your "name". Well you'll need a Good lawyer. You may eventually get out of it.. but,it won't be pretty
