If a mirror confuses you... Maybe you should be cleaning restrooms.
Yes. Use math and geometry instead of a realtime visual confirmation of the location of a four wheeler. Are you using a texas instrument graphing calculator to verify that four wheeler location?

Are fender mirrors pointless?

I was driving late one night, hard rain and no moon , I mean dark! Needing a cup of joe I saw a exit for a loves and was getting ready to make the turn while checking my right side I saw a small glow or something in my right side bumper mirrow ? Thought for a sec it was a reflect off a marker light, right before I made the turn in, a car without lights on passed me on the shoulder , so dark I couldn't see inside it , but saw the joint being passed. If it hadnt been for the bumper mirrow I would have ground them into the guard rail

You know what works even better, having lots of lights on the side of your truck...

I like the fender mirrors. Gives me added view. Also useful getting out of places that your regular mirrors don't show.
-
Oh yeah, plus NYC requires them now!

Well west coasters have not been done away with we now have those nice convex little mirrors on the bottom of our old school west coasters. You know the one's that say objects in the mirror are closer than they appear. Now CALTRANSPORT look in that bottom little mirror and what do you seee. If you have your mirrors set right you should see your blind spot. You dont need to be a supertrucker to be able to see and identify what that mirror is for. Now old school we would have just kept moving to that side and the 4 wheeler would have a choice to make ditch or trailer.LOL

oops...no quote.

lol, training mirrors. I have many years of learning ahead of me I hope.

The reason I like fender mirrors are in urban areas where you have 4 wheeler zinging everywhere in front of you and you can just glance at the right fender mirror to see if you have someone on your right. Also there good for watching 4 wheelers flying up the onramps in places like Wooster, RI where there is no acceleration lane and they have to go in the shoulder and through the 6 inches of road trash. LOLz
