I know I've delivered them before when I did LTL but can't remember if they were HM or not. I want to say they were Corrosive 8 classified maybe?

I will add I am not positive on the forklift batteries but regular car batteries are class 9NB. Many people don't know it but you need class 9NB listed on your MC-150 and the 1 mil insurance to legally haul anything with a battery or a fuel tank.

I have hauled many loads for Decka Battery....44k of car batteries no longer need placards.
The only time we ran placards on those loads were when we had motorcycle batteries where the acid was in a separate container.
The shipper would show us papers where the FMCSA changed the rules...I wish I still had a copy I would post it.
Sounds strange but as long as the acid is already inside the battery they told us no placards needed...

Correct you do not need placards or a hazmat license but you do need to list class 9 non bulk on your MCS-150 and have the 1 million insurance.

Here is an article about it. http://www.paulhanson.com/Forms/FMCSA_Engine.pdf

I can't remember who but someone on here got in trouble for hauling a piece of heavy equipment with out the class 9 NB listed.
