As mentioned above, I received a speeding ticket and it would lead to my termination if my company found out (very strict), but I haven't been convicted yet. Can my insurance company or my trucking company find out about my pending ticket if I don't notify them?
Edit: This community has provided fantastic advice so far and I appreciate it. Thank you.
Are insurance companies able to find out about pending tickets?

Pending citations eventually will be public for your company and insurance, once the conviction date is posted. How serious is the violation?

You need to get this ticket dismissed or reduced to a non-moving violation. You can get an attorney to do this for you or you can attempt to handle this yourself by contacting the DAs office in the district that is/will be handling the case.
There are many threads on here about getting this worked out.
As Moose said, you haven't been convicted of anything yet. At this point, its just a piece of paper. You have to be convicted/found guilty before its a reality of anything.
My question is... were you given the citation on a regular ticket or was it on a DOT inspection form?
If its on a regular ticket, the above applies.
If its on a DOT inspection sheet, in which you are required to give to your company, they will know about it regardless. However, you still aren't guilty until its been proven in court or you plead guilty.
My advice... keep your mouth shut until you are proven guilty. If its dismissed or reduced to a non-moving... keep your mouth shut.
If you're found guilty.... good luck.dunchues, BillyBobFrank, Diesel Dave and 2 others Thank this. -
I really don't know about other states, but in NC any pending court case, including citations, are public record and can be found on a state government site. It is not in detail, it basically states the charge like "speeding", the county of the violation, and the court date. It does not give the details like speeding 65 in a 55 mile zone.

Most companies require you to notify them within a certain period of time when you have received a moving violation of any sort. Doesn't matter if you've been all the way to the court process of bein found guilty or not. An d.o.t reports state directly on them how long your company has to respond to them. Ya need to look up the fmcsa regs regarding required notification of violations to motor carriers to get some definite clarification.
