Are "manual transmissions only" types of drivers supertruckers?

    Oh sure they are. That’s not the problem. The problem is you’re not connected to it with anything but wires. And your control inputs may or may not make it through the computer to even get to the transmission, even if the wire isn’t broken.

    Gosh now I’m scared to death. I better sell my new truck and fix up my old cabover. No computers, no ABS, no brakes on the steer axle. I wanna die like a man.

    Does the gear splitter or range selector on a manual not have wires?

    I think I have a solution. If you’re going up or down a hill and lose control of the transmission it would probably be best to just use the brakes and come to a controlled stop, the same as you would if you had any type of mechanical problem in any other truck.

    I'm really pretty sure that the brakes haven't succumbed to the evils of electronics.. yet

    Air lines. I don’t trust the aux section of Eatons much either. Where I spend a lot of my time you plan around not having to use those. If you have to shift at all you already ####ed something up. Whatever you can get at with the shift bar are your options at that point, and even they can be sketchy depending on where you are.
