Seems the OP crawled back “under his rock”. He’ll surface later with another useless thread.

One thing which was a big plus when I did slip in to an auto was less wear and tear on my knee. So many drop and hooks in a day and then bumping dock all day to boot was kinda wearing it out

Ever wonder what happens when you’re creeping down 12% and it comes out of gear, or goes into the wrong one? Short answer, you’re dead. Not that anything run by huge bundles of wires and computers ever #### up or anything. Probably nothing to worry about.

Yep because nobody has died going down a hill with a manual transmission.

Or a driver missing a gear in a manual. Same thing.

It’s the same as some flatbedders or os/ow drivers thinking they are better because they don’t bump docks.

reasoning? Bumping docks is for beginners.

manuals are hands on therefore manlier.

I had been ignorant when starting out thinking manuals are for men, but than realized drive what makes you money who cares what it is.

    how ever.

having unrestricted CDL is still better. Meaning start out with a manual learn the ins and outs of climbing and descending mountains and hills, than move up to an auto. It’s more of a perk for me.

There's a hill on hwy 24 out in BC that is literally a stage 3 jake in 3rd gear for about 20-25 minutes to get down. I'd be a bit leary about trusting a computer to get a 110k+ lb unit to the bottom.

Not even close to the same. On the rare occasion that I miss a shift I can put mine in gear with the shift bar. What are you going to do, pull on the wires harder?
